Restaurant on the waterfront, organically integrated into the landscape environment

The restaurant is located on the seafront of Ankhor. The task was to fit it into the landscape and make a facade that would be different from all the others. We were inspired by the architecture of the Scandinavian countries. The houses here were designed to be long, curvilinear in plan, repeating the character of the Scandinavian relief. The flat roof was absolutely unsuitable in the conditions of the region, as snow lay on such roofs. The natural snowfall was provided by traditional sloping roofs with steep slopes. In connection with this, the concept of regionalism has appeared. The term is used in architecture to refer to a variety of styles, characterized by the use of traditions and customs in the construction of the people inhabiting a particular region, designing with consideration of local climate and natural conditions. For greater unity with nature, the restaurant used imitations of natural materials and soothing colors. On the river side there is a panoramic glazing, on the other side the facade is sheathed with a wood-polymer composite (WPC) in the color of black oak.

A large square with multi-level terraces adjoins the restaurant. On the first level - parking, on the second - the landscape and on the third building of the restaurant itself with summer houses and a bar. Pergolas have a flat roof. For the finishing of the parapet used the same WPC-material. When creating a landscape composition, they relied on simple geometric shapes that would complement the main facade and not attract much attention.

Separately worked out the lighting in the evening. When dusk sets in, the restaurant lights up with lights. Along the perimeter of the entire restaurant are installed floor lamps, which shine “from bottom to top” and create a fascinating impression. In addition, the warm diffused light comes from the "lantern". All tracks are also illuminated by floor lights, sanctifying them, and at the same time set a certain rhythm in the form of flashes of light.
